EFET: Recalls frozen chicken burger due to salmonella

Frozen preparation of poultry meat in which the presence of the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella was detected is recalled from the market by the Single Food Control Agency

EFET demanded the immediate recall of the entire specific batch of the product. Specifically, EFET and in particular the Regional Directorate of Thessaly, during the inspections under the program “Official Control of Microbiological Food Safety Criteria” of 2021, sampled a frozen preparation of poultry meat intended for consumption.

The product with the brand name “Ypsiston MEATKA Chicken Burger”, with LOT 07021, Date. Freezer: 12/03/2021 and consumption before: 12/03/2022, produced and packaged by the company MEATKA SA (20 Thermopylon & Diagora, Spata Attica), received from the company Hellenic Supermarkets Sklavenitis SA and in collaboration with the Food Testing and Research Laboratory of Thessaloniki of EFET, the presence of the pathogenic microorganism Salmonella spp.

EFET demanded the immediate recall of the entire batch of the product in question and the relevant controls are already underway. At the same time, it calls on consumers who have purchased the specific product, not to consume it.
